Alpair5 Copper/Gold
Een 2½” breedbander van bijzondere klasse.
De metalen conus heeft een 4-laags coating die de stabiliteit optimaliseert. De korf is van een composiet materiaal en is zodanig ontworpen dat maximale stijfheid en minimale resonaties gecombineerd worden. Ook alle andere componenten zijn specifiek ontworpen voor de Alpair5, van de lineaire ophanging die helpt de vervorming laag te houden tot de vergulde connectoren die de hoek van de draden naar de spoel optimaliseert. Al met al resulteert dit in een breedbander met een extreem breed inzetbereik dat meer dan 7 octaven bedraagt, en een detailering waar de meeste tweeters nog een puntje aan kunnen zuigen.
Ook voor high definition weergave van SACD of DVDA is de Alpair5 de juiste keus. Alleen nog een mooie woofer toevoegen, en klaar is Uw high-end systeem.

Alpair5 Gunmetal Grey
Door toepassing van een andere coating heeft de grijze versie van de Alpair 5 een ietwat ander karakter dan de gouden versie. Daar waar de koper/gouden versie een vriendlijker karakter heeft, legt de grijze de nadruk op de detaillering, iets wat vooral in percussie en snaarinstrumenten tot uiting komt.

Alpair6
Een 3½” breedbander met extreem goede prestaties. Een betere laagweergave dan elke andere driver van dit formaat, een prachtig midden, en een helder en gedetailleerd hoog dat tot 24kHz doorloopt.
Deze driver is bijzonder geschikt voor kleinere full range speakers (bv de Needle), desktop systemen, F.A.S.T. ontwerpen. Leverbaar met rechthoekige korf .

Alpair6 gen.2 metal
De nieuwe Alpair6 is op enorm veel punten verbeterd t.o.v. De oude. En wie kan het beter uitleggen dan Mark Fenlon zelf:
The Alpair 6 is an ultra-high performance full range driver delivering audiophile performance in a compact size. The Alpair 6's low range capability is better than many larger drivers. The clarity and detail from this driver will amaze listeners. The lower middle range is particularly good. Vocals sound real giving that concert tone to the performance. This driver is ideal for smaller full range audio, desktop, multi-media and multi-driver applications.
What's new:
1 - Cone is all-new and follows the same Multiform production technology used in the latest larger Alpairs. This cone is down to 900 microns thickness over a large portion of its surface making it some 20% lighter than the original mode. The MMS is lower at 2.57g compared to 2.8g on the old model. Like the 6P, its profile is more shallow to increase dispersion and widen central imaging
2 - The power-train is all-new. The coil body is 600 micron alu with a copper winding. 8 vents are included in this body sited within 1.5-mm of the top winding section assisting cooling and to remove weight. The 6M shares the same super-thin spider with the 6P. The front suspension has also been "tweaked" for extend the working excursion load.
3 - The 6M shares the same new connector and frame arrangement with the 6P.
Outcomes:
The brief
for this driver is to extend the performance envelope from the
original model while keeping the acoustic character of the Alp6
metal series.
At 63Hz, its Fo is some 11Hz lower than the old model while pushing 4.7 litres with a QTS 0.38. In the right box, the 6M can sound bass-rich in the lower frequencies while still extending throughout the human hearing range.
The 6M's imaging is wide and clear (especially in the mid range) while the sweetness remains. Its a smooth detailed driver, ideal for smaller cab designs, desk-top and near-field work. Once you've built a nice box for these babies, connected and nice amp and good source; Take a beer from the fridge, or pour yourself a glass of wine (I recommend a nice Merlot), sit down and enjoy!

Alpair6 gen.2 paper
Over de papieren versie van de Alpair6 vertelt Mark Fenlon:
Essentially, its an all-new driver. The only cross-over parts from the first series are the magnet, and front washer, all other components are new or re-designed. There’s allot of info on the proto thread so I’ll keep to the essentials:
1 - Cone - mixed paper with a specific treatment (hence the colour). Note its profile, more shallow than previous A6 cones + lower mass. The main benefit is a wider dispersion.
2 - Power-train. I’ve been busy chopping chunks of weight out of every part (ala Colin Chapman - Lotus school of engineering). The coil is super light with thin a alu body. Its winding is alu/copper coated (CCAW) while the spider is a super-thin Nomex weave. The front suspension has also been “tweaked” to increas its compliance over the first 2.2-mm. of travel.
3 - Frame has also been modified to take the new style connectors with their remote cabe fixing extensions. The frame’s polymer mix has also been “tweaked” to increase the damping factor. There’s a re-design of the frame legs to increase rigidity.
Outcomes:
This Alp6-P is 2.0dB more efficient than the Gen 1 model. The wider dispersion pattern comes in handy as it broadens central stereo imaging. Frequency pattern is “Fenlon-esque”. The audio guys that know my work will recognise the trademark built-in BSC compensation, lowered mids to reduce vocal shout and rising high for on/off axis alignment choices.

Alpair 7
De Alpair7 is zonder twijfel de top in de 4” full range speakers, met een unieke hoog weergave die tot 30kHz reikt! De metalen conus is gemaakt met de unieke Markaudio 'multi forming' technologie. Ook de ultra dunne surround en spider (ook uniek ontworpen voor de Alpair7) dragen bij aan de ongeëvenaarde weergave kwaliteit van de Alpair7.

Alpair 10 gen.2 Full Range
Een echte high-end, echte full-range driver. De Alpair10 maakt het mogelijk om audiofiel verantwoorde weergave met één enkele driver te doen, van onder 40Hz tot ver boven de 20kHz toe. Door het ultralichte membraan worden alle details van de muziek weergegeven, door de grote Xmax (8½mm one-way) heeft ook het laag geen gebrek aan dynamiek. En uiteraard de magie van een goede breedbander: een levensechte ruimtelijke afbeelding die met andere luidsprekers niet te evenaren is.

Here it is, the new Alpair 10 Gen. 2. Its a whole new ball game with this driver. Apart from some parts of the frame, this a all-new design and build that moves on from the previous model. There's allot of history on the proto thread so I'll stick to essentials, but with more detail as I "tweaked" right up to the last second prior to mass production.
First off, my thanks to Matsubara san and Taniguchi san. Their work on the rear suspension and coils is superb. My thanks as ever to Even Yu. This guy gave this new built project 199%. I couldn't have asked for more. The Alpair series exist largely thanks to Evan's dedication. My thanks also goes to Lui Yi Ping for a nice "tweaked" front suspension, to Mr Chui being a superb maker of the poly parts; To Rebacca and Will for their work on the cones, And to everyone who's made the effort to get these drivers singing.
1 - Cones. All-new Multiform construction (as per other Gen. 2 Alpairs). The new profile is shallow. The overall depth has been reduced by 20% while 2 additional radii are added to its profile making this cone the most complex we've produced to date.
2 - Suspensions. Lui Yi Ping has "tweaked" the front suspension to reduce load resistance over the first 4-mm of travel. The new Nomex rear suspension is a new light grade synthetic material currently only being used on this driver. Note just how thin it is by looking at the parts pic.
3 - The new coil is a Japan made rectangle wire, tight-wound onto a light alu body. The complete coil assembly weighs under 4g being produced for us by a Japanese maker.
4 - Frame and connectors are all re-designed. The frame includes a new injection moulded seal. This increases the damping factor and makes installation easier. The connectors are new and include extensions for simple cable connection.
Outcomes:
The Alp10 Gen. 2 driver is a large step
forward from the old model. It pushes more air, 28 litres compared
to 19.5 while total Q is up to 0.35 (old model 0.33). The
Resonance frequency on the new model is 36Hz (40Hz on the old
model) while SPL remains at 87dB. From the technical standpoint,
this driver is delivering allot more for your bucks.
Acoustic performance is improved. Central imaging is wider, mids are clearer and highs go further. I wanted to take the 10 allot further this time around. Essentially, you're going to get more of just about everything. More dynamics, range, depth, clarity etc; But no harshness, the Alp10 Gen. 2 remains sweet.

Alpair 10 Bass
Deze versie van de Alpair10 is geoptimaliseerd om als midwoofer gebruikt te worden. Met een gedetailleerde laagweergave ook als er zacht geluisterd wordt. De x-max van 9mm (one way) en het brede inzetbereik (tot 10kHz) maken het de ideale partner voor elke tweeter in een high end 2-weg systeem.

Alpair 12
Full range op een grotere schaal. Een 8” driver die uitblinkt door het zeer gorte weergave gebied, dat tot de 20kHz doorloopt, uniek voor een driver van dit formaat. Alle onderdelen van deze driver zijn speciaal voor de Alpair 12 ontwikkeld door topspecialisten: de 1/10mm dunne metalen conus die met de unieke 'multi forming' technologie gemaakt wordt, de spider die een zeer lineair gedrag waarborgt, de stofkap die direct op de spreekspoel drager gemonteert zit, de high tech kunststof korf die resonanties geen kans geeft.
